The Mariners, who still have 18 games to play in 2013, including the second of three against the Houston Astros Tuesday night, announced their 2014 tentative schedule (minus start times) Tuesday afternoon. The opener on the road for the sixth consecutive season, March 31 in Anaheim against the Los Angeles Angels. The home opener is April 8, also against the Angels.

As per custom, the early part of the schedule is laden with AL West opponents. Twenty-two of Seattle’s first 25 games next season will be against division foes.

After opening on the road with a three-game series against the Angels March 31-April 2, the Mariners will play four at Oakland April 3-6. The first home stand will also feature the Angels April 8-9 and A’s April 11-13.

The Mariners play 20 interleague games against teams from the NL East. The 20 include a three-game series against the New York Mets July 21-23, two against the Atlanta Braves Aug. 5-6, and three against the Washington Nationals Aug. 29-31, all at Safeco Field.

The Mariners travel to Miami April 18-20, Atlanta June 3-4) and Philadelphia Aug. 19-21.

The Mariners hook up with their designated rivals, the San Diego Padres, in back-to-back two-game series at Safeco Field June 16-17 and at Petco Park June 18-19.

The longest home stand — 11 games — is May 22-June 1 against the Astros, Angels and Tigers.

Official start times will not be announced until January.

The schedule is “tentative” because the FO isn’t sure anyone will actually show up for next season’s games.
