The Mariners became the first team in MLB history to have four individual players turn in multi-homer games on four consecutive days in the same season. Dae-Ho Lee Friday joined Nelson Cruz (Tuesday), Chris Iannetta (Wednesday) and Robinson Cano (Thursday) when he homered in the second and fourth innings.
The Mariners Thursday selected eight players on the second day of MLB’s first-year player draft. Through 10 rounds, they have five infielders, three pitchers, a catcher and an outfielder. Nine of the 10 were from the college ranks.
The Mariners begin a key three-game series with the Texas Rangers Friday night at Safeco Field and will have Leonys Martin back in centerfield.
