The Mariners Thursday recalled RHP Blake Beavan from AAA Tacoma and dispatched RHP Hector Noesi back to the Rainiers. Beavan was available for the four-game series with the New York Yankees Friday. He began the season in Seattle’s rotation but was optioned May 1 after going 0-1, 8.27 in seven appearances.

With the Rainiers, Beavan, 24, went 3-2, 4.91 in seven starts covering 36.2 innings.

Noesi suffered the loss Wednesday when the Mariners fell 7-5 in 16 innings to the Chicago White Sox. He allowed three runs on seven hits in 3.0 innings. In seven appearances with the Mariners, Noesi went 0-1, 4.74 ERA.

The Mariners (26-34) are 2-1 against the Yankees this season after taking a series in New York May 14-16. The Yankees are second in the AL East, 1.5 games behind the Boston Red Sox after sweeping Cleveland in New York. Aaron Harang (2-5, 5.82) is pitching for Seattle Thursday against Phil Hughes (2-4, 5.37).

How long before Beavan runs out of options? He’s been on the Tacoma/Seattle and back train for awhile now.
