Erasmo Ramirez, who made his first start of the season for the Mariners Thursday and allowed seven earned runs in 4.1 innings, was optioned to the short-A Everett AquaSox to keep him on regular schedule through the All-Star break, one of four moves made Friday on the pitching staff.
Seattle sent back RHP Blake Beavan to AAA Tacoma and recalled LHP Bobby LaFromboise and RHP Hector Noesi from the Rainiers.
LaFromboise and Noesi are available out of the bullpen when the Mariners open a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels at Safeco Field. Mariners relievers pitched 15.1 innings in the past three days during a 30-run onslaught by the Boston Red Sox, who scored 34 runs in the four-game series.
LaFromboise, 26, appeared in three games with Seattle this season, working 2.1 innings. He did not allow a run in two of the three games. Overall, had no decisions (one hold) and a 7.71 ERA (2.1 IP, 2 ER). He went 4-0, 3.86 in 29 games with AAA Tacoma.
Noesi, 26, is in his third stint with the Mariners this season (April 18-May 17 and May 27-June 5). In seven games with Seattle, Noesi was 0-1, 4.74 (19.0 IP, 10 ER). He has also pitched with AA Jackson (1-0, 0.00 in 2 GS) and Tacoma (2-1, 7.20 in eight games, five GS) this season.
Beavan, 24, will join the Rainiers for the second time (April 30-June 6). In separate stints with the Mariners, Beavan was a combined 0-2, 6.13 in 12 games (two starts).Beavan is projected to join the Rainiers rotation.
