    Mariners finally get day home opener in 2015

    Still in contention for an American League wild card berth this season, the Mariners Monday announced their tentative regular-season schedule for 2015, which begins with a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels April 6 at Safeco Field. The 1:10 p.m. opener will be the first season-opening day game since 2010 and the first time the Mariners have opened at home since 2008.

    The opening homestand covers only the Angels series. That will be followed by a six-game trip to Oakland for three against the Athletics (April 10-12) and three against the Los Angeles Dodgers (April 13-15).

    The Mariners will play nine-game home stands in April and May, followed by an 11-game homestand in June. Seattle will play a four-game series against the Boston Red Sox (May 14-17) and a three-game set against the New York Yankees (June 1-3).

    Interleague games against the National League West next season includes Safeco Field contests against the San Diego Padres (May 12-13), San Francisco Giants (June 17-18), Arizona Diamondbacks (July 27-29), and Colorado Rockies (September 11-13).

    The tentative Mariners schedule, with home start times, is available on mariners.com. The tentative, complete 2015 MLB schedule of all 30 teams is available on MLB.com.

    The schedule with start times will not be finalized until January.
